It’s open time again as the Open Book Festival approaches. Taking place at the Fugard theatre and other venues across Cape Town from 17 – 21 September 2014, this year’s festival will see the assemblage of international and local writers joining together to promote a love of literature and to showcase South African writing. Some of my personal highlights include Wilbur Smith launching his new book as part of the festival, as well as Deon Meyer, Raymond E Feist and Andrew Salomon discussing the commonalities that exist between fantasy and crime writing.
